During the recent New Year’s Day, a huge number of travelers visited Mang Den town, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province, Vietnam. This is a good news for a great new year in tourism here. 

Domestic and foreign tourists are attracted by a range of activities available in Mang Den. Some of them are cherry blossom viewing, gong-sinus culture and traditional musical instruments, tea ceremony exploration, visiting the exhibition fair, and introducing typical products.

Furthermore, Kon Plong district hosted Mang Den Culture – Tourism Week in 2022, which will include a variety of exciting events that provided visitors with fresh experiences. Through this event, the Kon Plong district hopes to bring the traditional culture of the district’s ethnic minority closer to everyone.

During the Covid-19 pandemic, the total number of tourists in Kon Tum province in 2020 declined by 54.22% compared to 2019. The number of tourists continues to fall rapidly in 2021, reaching only approximately 50% of 2020. It wasn’t until Kon Tum set the new normal that the local tourism started to improve.

According to figures from Kon Tum’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the entire province welcomed more than 1 million visitors in 2022, a figure that has tripled since the same period in 2021. The entire revenue generated by tourism activities in the province was estimated at 265 billion VND, exceeding the target by 6%.

Sunflower field blooming brilliantly in Nghia Lam commune, Nghia Dan district, Nghe An attracts many locals and tourists to admire despite the cold weather.

The field of sunflowers covers an area of up to tens of hectares with brilliant beauty. At the moment, millions of sunflowers are blooming, creating a beautiful scene.

The sunflower field, owned by a dairy company, is grown in field C10, about 1km from Ho Chi Minh road with an area of ​​about 30 hectares.

Sunflowers bloom right at the New Year’s Day thanks to the favorable weather, so many tourists have visited and taken photos here.

In addition, the company also built a traffic safety corridor for visitors to see flowers more conveniently and created a fence to protect flowers. This year, flowers are sown once, and the flower field is expected to bloom until January 2023.

In addition, the People’s Committee of Nghia Lam commune required sales points in the sunflower field clearly stating the origins, prices, parking spots in accordance with regulations, and locations specified on the safety corridor.

During the New Year’s Day, many provinces in Vietnam saw a huge number of international tourists return. 

According to data from Quang Nam province’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the number of international visitors here over the recent holiday reached 89,000. It was nearly three times higher than the number of domestic visitors (31,000).

Aside from Quang Nam, other provinces throughout the country saw positive signals. Thua Thien – Hue welcomed 19,000 visitors, with 50% being foreigners. Over 58,000 tourists went to Da Nang, with 60% being international visitors. Khanh Hoa welcomed 355,000 tourists, with 11 international flights every day and more than 200 people per flight on average.

Meanwhile, the two biggest cities in the country, Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, recorded international arrivals of 38,000 and 35,000 respectively. In Hanoi, the occupancy rate of foreign visitors reached nearly 30%. They are mainly from Japan, Germany, South Korea, and the US.

According to the Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City Departments of Tourism, due to the relatively short New Year’s Day, the number of domestic tourists was not high. The occupancy rate in tourist cities was just over 60%. Most people preferred staycation rather than long trips.
