The first Siem Reap – Hanoi flight of Angkor Air landed safely at Noi Bai International Airport (Vietnam) with a total of 68 passengers.
Accordingly, the first direct flight route connecting the two cities of Siem Reap and Hanoi of Angkor Air will be operated with a frequency of 3 times a week, on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
After Hanoi, Angkor Air is expected to continue operating direct flights from Siem Reap, Cambodia’s most famous tourist destination, to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang.
Both Vietnam and Cambodia have now reopened their borders and eased the majority of the Covid-19 restrictions on international tourists.
According to data from The General Statistics Office of Vietnam, Cambodia was one of the three nations with the biggest number of tourists to Vietnam since reopening the border, with 172,000 arrivals in the first 11 months of the year, only after Korea (760,000) and the United States (270,000).
On the contrary, Vietnam is regarded as a prospective tourism market for Cambodia. More than 180,000 Vietnamese tourists visited the country this year.
