During the recent New Year’s Day, a huge number of travelers visited Mang Den town, Kon Plong district, Kon Tum province, Vietnam. This is a good news for a great new year in tourism here.
Domestic and foreign tourists are attracted by a range of activities available in Mang Den. Some of them are cherry blossom viewing, gong-sinus culture and traditional musical instruments, tea ceremony exploration, visiting the exhibition fair, and introducing typical products.
Furthermore, Kon Plong district hosted Mang Den Culture – Tourism Week in 2022, which will include a variety of exciting events that provided visitors with fresh experiences. Through this event, the Kon Plong district hopes to bring the traditional culture of the district’s ethnic minority closer to everyone.
During the Covid-19 pandemic, the total number of tourists in Kon Tum province in 2020 declined by 54.22% compared to 2019. The number of tourists continues to fall rapidly in 2021, reaching only approximately 50% of 2020. It wasn’t until Kon Tum set the new normal that the local tourism started to improve.
According to figures from Kon Tum’s Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the entire province welcomed more than 1 million visitors in 2022, a figure that has tripled since the same period in 2021. The entire revenue generated by tourism activities in the province was estimated at 265 billion VND, exceeding the target by 6%.
